Anthony Reuter Viroqua High School 2005 Scholarship Recipient
Right now, I'm in Minneapolis going to school at the University of Minnesota studying Social Justice, Youth Studies, and GLBT Studies. I've been advising a local high school GSA (The Minneapolis School District's GLBTA office couldn't find a teacher to replace the one that was leaving), planned a queer youth conference, worked for my campus queer organizations (student and institutional), volunteered with a community-based youth media literacy after school program, and of course facilitated workshops! Being a part of the LGBT or more specifically the GSA movement has definitely changed my life. It helped me discover my passion for activism, it kept me sane and healthy in high school, and I made amazing life long friends through GSAFE's Leadership Training Institute. Without the GSA movement, I don't know where I would be today.
