Several organizations dedicate their time and resources to those individuals who fall victim to bullying and harassment in school because of their sexual orientation. The gay and lesbian community is still not very well seen in society, even in the 21st century.
The efforts of these associations are directed towards young individuals because it has been shown that such victims have problems in their further development in life. They are significantly psychologically affected by the bullying they go through as this affects the way in which they perceive themselves and it actually determines them to inhibit their true personality and thus to change themselves.
